BHA Women's Tenkara Fly Fishing 101
When: June 8, 2025
Where: Mansfield Center, Connecticut
This is a hands-on Tenkara Fly Fishing workshop with a day of instruction to learn basic understanding and practice techniques. Our organizers are from Backcountry Hunters & Anglers (BHA), Becoming and Outdoors Woman (BOW) and Heritage Tenkara Project, share a similar mission: We believe everyone should have access to nature; and fly fishing is a wonderful way to get out, connect with our environment, spend time with friends, and explore! We love all things wild and want to provide a community and resources to get you started and spark adventures. The river we will be accessing is on Public Land. This valuable property is shared and owned by all of us. We love our Public Lands and Waters and we can’t wait for you to join us. What is Tenkara Fly Fishing? The skills you will learn with us are foundational to any other type of fishing. We get it, new hobbies can be expensive, especially fishing! This style of fishing, however, uses a primitive set-up. In other words, it typically requires less gear than other types of fishing. Working with less teaches us how to fish better. Tenkara fly fishing is perfect for beginners and experts!
